Temprecord total blood transport system

A better system for keeping blood within the necessary temperature range when it's being stored and transported has meant less blood is wasted, benefiting a wide range of people.

Working with the New Zealand Blood Service, Temprecord developed a transportation system that both improved the length of time blood product could be kept and gave an accurate verification of temperature while the product was being shipped.

Temprecord's new transport system has a calibrated temperature recorder, a polystyrene container, an outer cover, ice packs and inner layers, all of which preserve the blood product for significantly longer than other systems.

And while it's a bit of a leap from the company's usual business, monitoring and ensuring safe storage and transportation of food, it's a system which has led them into other areas.

For example, they've adapted the system to use with vaccines and other temperature sensitive material which has led to interest from potential customers in New Zealand and overseas.
