About the Health Innovation Awards
The Health Innovation Awards illustrate how creatively this country's health professionals are contributing to the treatment, care and recovery of New Zealanders.
In 2003, the Inaugural Health Innovation Awards set the scene, with 25 entries of impressive diversity, quality and creativity. And in 2004 and 2005, more innovative ideas were shared in the generous and thoughtful spirit that characterise these awards.
The joint endeavour of the Ministry of Health and the Accident Compensation Corporation in bringing the Health Innovation Awards to fruition is a fitting partnership. Together we play key roles in improving the health of all New Zealanders and we are well aware that health professionals continually demonstrate ingenuity in improving service.
We are delighted to be working together on this project for the following reasons:
- The innovations are quality initiatives that other providers deserve to learn about so that they too can apply them where they see benefits for their patients.
- Discovering the ingenuity of the awards entrants may promote and encourage other providers to think in fresh and innovative ways about their own delivery of health care.
